A Counselling Psychologist working in the field of Clinical Psychology, Dr Salena is British trained, warm, authentic and integrative, with an wealth of experience built over 18 years. She has a special interest in working with emotional problems and eating disorders including binge eating, anorexia and bulimia, in addition to her work across a range of mental health issues. One of her special interest areas in in providing help for Binge Eating Disorder. Treating Binge Eating and other Eating Disorders has been a large part of her practice in the last 10 years, and one of the extended training areas she focuses in.

Dr Salena’s clinical experience spans inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, community mental health services, and private practice. She works predominantly with adults and older adolescents, seeing a broad range of clinical presentations, including eating disorders, binge eating disorder, anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, addictions, borderline personality disorder, anxiety disorders and mood disorders. With her training in Psychodynamic and Compassion based therapy, Dr Salena’s warm and evidence based approach is grounded in science, and an eclectic mix, tailored to individual client needs.
A significant area of interest and professional practice is in Mindful Eating approaches for Binge Eating and Bulimia, in addition to working with carers of those with an eating disorder such as Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and EDNOS (Eating Disorders Not Otherwise Specified). Dr Salena runs both groups and works one-on-one, and is listed with the Butterfly Foundation. She provides meal support services for those carers and families.
