Olivia has a special interest in relationship counselling. This included completing advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples, a well-researched and evidence based approach which has been shown to be highly effective for couples in distress. In her work with couples, Olivia helps both partners identify the negative patterns they may get stuck in which can lead to distance, isolation, and loneliness in relationships. She identifies triggers and strategies for powerful emotions such as anger, sadness, and fear. Crucial to her work is her ability to create a safe atmosphere in which both partners can express their struggle, and reach the core issues that are at the root of conflict. One of Olivia’s strengths is her ability to support couples and families to build a secure, safe, and responsive emotional connection.
Olivia enjoys and is inspired by her work with clients. She has a strong belief in the capacity of every person to bring about meaningful change in their lives and relationships with the right therapeutic support. Her non-judgemental, caring, and respectful approach enables clients to feel safe and supported in addressing their difficulties and struggles.
