PSYCHOLOGY FOR YOUNG ADULTS

Discover a More Balanced, Empowered Life with Our Psychological Services for Young Adults

Psychology for Young Adults

Welcome to Mindworx Psychology, where we know that young adulthood is a time of growth, challenges, and pivotal life decisions. We offer psychology for young adults, whether you’re facing difficulties in relationships, mental health issues such as anxiety or low mood, are ready to break bad habits or addictions, or are struggling with gender identity or questions about who you are and how you fit into the world, our safe space is designed for you.

Deliberately modern and low key, our rooms are a haven where you can feel free to be yourself in a confidential space with someone trained to support you, and help you explore solutions in an unbiased and non-judgemental way.

Comprehensive Range of Therapies

If you haven’t seen a Psychologist before, you may think talk therapy is all about talking. Our team are great listeners, but if finding the answers to life’s challenges just involved listening, then life would be simple!

Therapy looks different for everyone. In the first sessions, where we are getting to know you, exploring your challenges, your goals, and discovering your strengths, we do lots of listening. And we try to ask you the right kind of questions: ones to make you think.

But when you are ready for change, then our training allows us to bring in an extensive array of therapeutic approaches to meet your individual needs. We know that one size doesn’t fit all. We don’t follow manuals or provide worksheets you could find yourself on google – instead our team of trained psychologists combine and draw from different approaches to help you reach your goals, based on your personal strengths, values and unique ways of learning.

That might mean pulling on our VR headset to do some graded exposure, or allowing us to ruffle your feathers a little when we push back on unhelpful beliefs or thoughts that are getting in your way. Until we meet you, we can’t decide. We’ll be taking a collaborative approach, and helping you choose what will work best for you.

Our team of psychologists all have extensive training in different therapies, including:

Flexible Consultations

With a café downstairs, lakeviews from our rooms, and comfy sofas to relax into, you can choose to book a face-to-face consultation at our Sydney Hills District practice. While our Baulkham Hills practice offers the convenience of the Norwest metro station, or free nearby parking, as well as lake views that calm your soul, we understand that sometimes, your cozy home office or comfy bed can be just as inviting!

Opt for our telehealth sessions and receive the same high-quality psychological services all from the convenience of your own space. Whether you’re in Sydney or further afield, deciding between a face-to-face consultation with our experienced psychologists or a telehealth session has never been easier. The choice is yours. Many young adults join us via secure video from work, university campus or home. All we ask is that you are dressed (!) and somewhere you can chat privately.

We are open 8am through to 8pm, so whether you are up early, or sleep until noon, there is no right or wrong way to get started – what works is usually based on what suits you best.

What We Can Help With

Every young person is different. Some come to see us because they are experiencing a specific life challenge, other’s come because they are overwhelmed, struggling, or miserable. Whatever the reason you are seeking help, remember that we work with thousands of young adults. And we have been young adults ourselves. We know what shame, pressure, despair and hopelessness feel like.

We are imperfect ourselves. We are not here to judge, but to help. Our rooms are a safe space where we will gently and kindly explore your values, your vulnerabilities and your choices. We do not walk in your shoes, but we can support you on your journey.
We can help with problems such as:

Real Results, Real People, Real Change

While we cannot share testimonials, our clients often experience significant improvements in various aspects of life. For instance:

Many young adults struggling with social anxiety have learned coping skills through CBT and ACT practices. This has significantly improved their ability to engage in social situations, attend social events with less anxiety, and form meaningful relationships. It’s been incredible to see them flourish, often with significant changes withing six or seven sessions.

Many young adults struggling with low mood, high levels of emotionality and self-harm have been able to improve their mood and refind purpose and joy. They have benefitted from CBT, and DBT strategies to manage emotions and mood, and feel increased confidence and resilience.

Whatever your reason for seeking help, whatever your reasons for wanting change, we are ready to help.
