Excellence in Clinical Psychology and CounsellingMindworx Psychology Outstanding Health Improvement Service

Although anxiety and sadness are normal human emotions, there may be times when low mood, or anxiety and worry or other problems begin to interfere with life and our ability to do those things we enjoy.

When relationships are affected, or our work, or our child’s school-life is impacted then psychology and counselling services may help.

With families of our own, our team of Psychologists understand the challenges life brings – and just how important good mental health is at all stages in lifespan. We work with children, teenagers, adults, families and couples.

Our award winning Practice has been build on excellence – with a commitment to gold standard therapies and to evidence based treatments that work. We take great pride in knowing that most of our referrals are word of mouth recommendations, with a large network of referring GP’s, Psychiatrists, Paediatricians, schools, hospitals, workplaces and other health professionals.

Cognitive behavioural therapy

Current research tells us that cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a gold standard treatment for a range of psychological issues such as stress, depression and anxiety.

This type of therapy tackles the physical symptoms of anxiety and depression (like the racing heart, appetite changes, fatigue, or the changes in sleep), as well as targeting the unhelpful thoughts and the unhelpful behaviours that can maintain the disorders.

We believe one therapy doesn’t fit everyone.

In addition to CBT, our Clinical Psychologists are experienced in a range of world leading therapeutic approaches including narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, interpersonal therapy, psycho-dynamic therapy, solution focused therapy, mindfulness-based therapies, eye movement therapies…and more.

Emotional wellbeing…What’s normal?

Did you know 90% of Australians report feeling stressed?

Anxiety is the most common mental condition in Australia, and it is estimated that 1 in 4 people will be affected by anxiety, and 1 in 7 people will be affected by depression in their lifetime.  The good news is that anxiety disorders and depression can be treated, regardless of age. We believe that people can successfully learn to overcome anxiety and depression and get back to enjoying their lives.
