Melissa Trapolini is a registered psychologist with many years’ experience of working within the school setting. Melissa has extensive experience in schools providing psychological assessment and therapy to support young people and their families.
Melissa’s engaging, empathetic nature and compassionate approach help young people and their parents feel supported, valued and empowered to make positive changes. She believes in the importance of working with parents and carers to support children’s social and emotional development.
Melissa maintains the client as the focal point whilst building therapeutic, respectful and supportive relationship in a culturally safe environment. She seeks to create awareness, empower her clients to identify their strengths and apply strategies in order for them to live a meaningful life. She has supported clients in managing anxiety, depression, study and work stress, self-worth, relationship and life challenges and wellbeing.
Melissa is committed to a client-centred approach, whereby clients direct their own goals for therapy. She incorporates techniques from a range of evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy to support clients to achieve their goals and fulfill their own potential for growth.
