Adele McFarland, Clinical Psychology Registrar

Passionate about neurodivergence, Adele McFarland is a psychologist with a deep understanding of the human experience. She is empathetic and open-minded, and enjoys working with people from all walks of life, with a special focus on neurodivergent individuals. She particularly enjoys helping clients with Autism, ADHD and anxiety to achieve their goals.

With a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology, Adele brings with her a non-judgemental, curious, and genuine approach. Adele values the client’s story, and believes therapy is a collaborative effort.

Adele believes that, when it comes to therapy, people know themselves best. She uses a client centred approach to create an accepting, non-judgmental environment for her clients.

Warm & compassionate, Adele takes the time to explore client concerns, whilst developing their individual strengths and values. This enables clients to achieve their goals in a meaningful way.

Adele is trained in gold-standard treatments for mental health conditions, and she works collaboratively with her clients towards real and lasting change. She is committed to helping her clients lead healthier and more fulfilling lives – and she always has a joke ready to lighten the mood!

She enjoys testing and assessment with clients to help them make sense of their challenges, and is able to support the diagnosis of both autism and ADHD, as well as administer cognitive and academic testing.

Adele runs a wonderful program for teens called Mind Your Mind. This incredible course is a specially designed 10-session group therapy for teenagers with autism, drawing form the transformative power of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with an emphasis on interpersonal effectiveness, in a supportive, understanding environment. Working across the lifespan, Adele supports adults, teenagers and children.Adele works Monday – Friday, with appointments by prior arrangements.

You do not need a GP referral to book an appointment at Mindworx Psychology.

Medicare Rebates are available if you have a valid referral from a GP, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician.

Your Private Health Fund may offer cover for Psychology Services – you can check this directly with your fund.
