Sandra Burgess, Registered Psychologist

Sandra Burgess is a Registered Psychologist with extensive experience working with children, families, and adults across a wide range of settings.
Warm, calm, and approachable, Sandra is dedicated to creating a safe and supportive therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes.

Sandra has worked in diverse roles throughout her career, including Child and Family Health Services, Family Law Courts, Sexual Assault Services, schools, and specialist youth mental health programs. Her experience spans providing therapy to children and parents with a range of presentations, providing assessment and intensive case management for young people experiencing serious mental health issues, and delivering therapeutic group parenting programs. She has also provided clinical supervision to psychologists and training to teachers, equipping them with strategies in emotion coaching and behaviour management.

Sandra draws from a range of evidence-based interventions, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and family therapy, supporting both young people and their families in navigating complex challenges.

Sandra works with children, teens, young adults, and adults, helping with:

Sandra brings a wealth of expertise and a compassionate approach to her work.
She is particularly passionate about supporting families and young people through periods of change and difficulty, and works with clients across the lifespan by appointment, Friday and Saturdays.

Medicare Rebates are available if you have a valid referral from a GP, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician.

Your Private Health Fund may offer cover for Psychology Services – you can check this directly with your fund.
